The Authority for Projects, Tenders and Local Content will organize the Government Projects Forum 2026 tomorrow, Sunday, under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Badr bin Salem Al Maamari, Chairman of the Authority, with the participation of a number of officials and specialists from both the public and private sectors.

The forum will showcase a wide package of approved government projects as well as projects currently under study, in addition to discussing tendering and award mechanisms and enhancing local content.

The event will present projects across several sectors, including ports, roads, dams, public facilities, and maintenance works, as well as pipeline networks and well-drilling projects. The expected quarter of tendering and the status of each project—whether approved or under study—will be specified, giving companies forward-looking visibility to prepare and plan accordingly. The distribution of projects across the governorates of the Oman will also be reviewed during the forum.

The forum reflects an institutional approach based on dialogue and partnership. It promotes private sector empowerment, stimulates fair competition, and strengthens local content in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, supporting development across various sectors.

The forum will include four specialized panel sessions. The plenary session will discuss the Authority's direction in managing government projects, with participation from leaders of the Authority, the National Office for Local Content, and the Projects Follow-up Office.

The second session will focus on the construction sector, highlighting future projects for 2026, tendering mechanisms, technical and financial evaluation criteria, key challenges facing contracting companies, opportunities for small and medium enterprises, and sustainability trends in projects.

The third session will address the supply and general services sector, covering future needs of government entities, qualification and registration procedures, government framework agreements, challenges related to specifications and compliance, opportunities for new suppliers to enter the government market, and the promotion of national products.

The fourth session will focus on the information technology sector, reviewing the government's direction in digital transformation projects, information security, and IT infrastructure, approved contracting models, technical challenges during implementation, company qualification requirements, and opportunities for innovation and local solutions.

The organization of this forum comes as part of efforts to enhance transparency and provide early access to information on government projects, giving the private sector clearer insight and greater readiness to compete. It also contributes to improving the efficiency of the projects and tenders ecosystem and generating added value for the national economy by empowering Omani companies and expanding participation in the implementation of development projects.
