The General Secretariat of the Tender Board today signed 6 framework contracts with several Omani companies to supply desktop computers, laptops, and tablets to government entities in the Sultanate of Oman. This aims to enhance the efficiency and quality of procurement services for the Secretariat's clients, saving effort and time, and accelerating the fulfillment of government entities' needs for this category of supplies. The framework contracts include a list of options and specifications comprising 228 choices, aligning with high directives on the importance of focusing on local content policy objectives to localize industries, develop and adopt entrepreneurs, and encourage small and medium-sized enterprises and startups, while also contributing to the sustainability and growth of local companies.

The signing of these contracts follows the successful initial experience of purchasing government vehicles using the electronic order management system, which achieved procedural gains from automating and standardizing purchase orders and unifying product and item pricing. Engineer Najat bint Ali Al-Siyabiya, Director of the Government Procurement Department at the General Secretariat of the Tender Board, explained that signing the framework contracts with 6 local companies is part of the strategies being pursued for unified government procurement.

She noted that the unified purchasing process will feature electronic automation from the start of the request to the issuance of the purchase order, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance. For his part, Muath bin Ahmed Al-Hinai, CEO of "Ansar" Technology, one of the local signatory companies, confirmed that the importance of these contracts lies in their timing, as "Ansar" expands into regional and international markets, strengthening its position both domestically and abroad. He pointed out that the framework contract enhances the company's position by allowing it to compete with neighboring countries.
